8 days to Nepal.

On the stupas (shrines) in Nepal, there are eyes painted on the four sides of the tower reaching from the middle of the stupas. These are Buddha eyes and they look to the four cardinal directions to symbolize that the Buddha is all-seeing.

Between the eyes are a symbol I thought until recently was a stylized nose. In actuality, it is the Sanskrit character for the number 1, symbolizing the unity of all things.

Above the eyes is a dot (the third eye) that is a symbol for spiritual awakening.
